WPT’s new season set to premiere Jan. 4

The World Poker Tour will begin airing its seventh season on January 4 on Fox Sports Net, according to a press release issued today. It will be the first of 26 episodes scheduled to air.

Season 7 will air as one-hour episodes, in two parts, instead of two-hour episodes.

According to the release:

Season VII also gives viewers a front-row seat to watch poker history, anticipating such milestones as the $400 million mark for prize money awarded and the 100th WPT Poker-Made Millionaire crowned. Fans will also see many familiar faces back at the final table, including WPT Season IV Player of the Year Gavin Smith, Mike “The Mouth” Matusow and David “the Dragon” Pham.

Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten are still the hosts of the show. FullTiltPoker.net is sponsoring the season.
