Cyndy Violette Heads List of 2009 Women in Poker HOF Inductees

The Women in Poker Hall Of Fame, an extension of the Ladies International Poker Series, announced their 2009 inductees this week. Three women will be joining the lineup of the hall following a June induction ceremony: June Field, Jan Fisher and Cyndy Violette.

June Field is a name more familiar to industry insiders than casual players, but even those who can’t place the name are familiar with her impact. Field founded Card Player magazine in 1988, and also created the now-defunct Poker Digest.

Jan Fisher is known to poker players in several roles - she’s been the TD of the PartyPoker Million, an announcer for the Professional Poker Tour, a Card Player columnist and an instructor for WPT Boot Camp, just to name a few.

Cyndy Violette is likely the most recognizable member of the 2009 inductee class to the average fan of poker. A WSOP bracelet holder, Violette has been featured in numerous poker programs, including The Superstars of Poker, Poker Royale: Pro/Celebrity, and the World Series of Poker.

The 2009 induction ceremony will be part of a series of events sponsored by LIPS / WiPHOF in early June 2009. Full schedule below:
