WSOP Update: Two Bracelets Awarded as Main Event Nears

The final $1,500 tournament of this World Series of Poker saw yet another unlikely winner.
Tony Veckey won Event No. 54, an NLHE tourney, despite having no WSOP cashes, nor any tournament winnings for tracked live play. Nonetheless, he outlasted a field of more than 2,800 players for the top prize of $673K.
Here were the payouts:

In the other final table of the day — No. 55, a $2.5K 2-7 triple draw lowball (limit) tourney — Abe Mosseri sealed the deal in his second final table of this WSOP. The other came in the $10K World Championship of Stud Hi-Low (sixth). John Juanda was at his fifth final table of this WSOP, but once again he fell just short in fourth.

The final event before the main event — No. 56, a $5K NLHE 6-handed tourney — played down to 16 players. Peter Feldman, who has a pair of WSOP circuit wins under his belt, is among them.
There will be a $5K Ante Up for Africa charity tournament today, and the main event starts on Friday.
