The second episode in G4’s poker-themed reality show Two Months Two Million went off this weekend and continued to offer an interesting look into the life of four high stakes poker pros.

For those unfamiliar, the show follows four names well-known to those who follow online poker - Jay ‘Krantz’ Rosencrantz, Emil ‘Whitelime’ Patel, Brian ‘flawless_victory’ Roberts, and Dani ‘ansky’ Stern - as they work at an ambitious plan to earn two million bucks in two months playing poker while sharing a rented Vegas mansion.

Last week it was Krantz who had his losses serve as the central focus of the show, even though Ansky ended up as the biggest loser. This week, Ansky came out on the bottom again, and his frustration got a big chunk of episode time. As the loser, Ansky again had to do the penalty stunt, which (again) involved him dressing in an effeminate manner; Krantz assures readers on his blog that “not all the penalty stunts involve Dani dressing like a woman.”

Some might begin to wonder if the losses and rebounds aren’t a little too conveniently spaced for TV, but Krantz says it’s just the opposite: “The poker results and the order in which the events happen is like pretty much 100% accurate. We were saying all summer that the way things played out, you could not have written it better, and I just want to stress how that’s so. According to the producers/crew this show was way closer to an actual documentary TV show than any of the other reality TV that they’ve worked on. Also, we wouldn’t have done the show if the poker wasn’t going to be incredibly accurate, if the results weren’t our real results, and the material wasn’t handled seriously.”

The totals through week two:

Jay Rosenkrantz: +$147,000
Brian Roberts: +$46,000
Emil Patel: (-$11,500)
Dani Stern: (-$18,600)

Total for Week 2: +$162,900
Total to date: +$197,900

Krantz’s preview of next week’s episode: “House Wars. Team Israel vs Team Aejones. Best of 3 competition. Football, nightlife challenge (kind of like a scavenger hunt at Ghost Bar), HU tournament.”
